The butt is the dense base of the horn, compact and heavy, and the slowest-wearing piece we sell. A goat horn is a single natural chew that lasts days to weeks, with no rawhide and no glue. Low odour and low mess, so it can live indoors.
It's the hardest thing we sell, and very hard chews can crack teeth. For determined adult chewers with healthy teeth only: not puppies, seniors or any dog with a dental history. Supervise, inspect it each session, and retire the horn at the first crack or once it wears small.
Benefits
- One of the longest-lasting natural chews
- Low odour and low mess, so it can live indoors
- The densest section of the horn, for dogs that get through the rest
- One horn, one protein. No glue and no rawhide
Suitable for
Determined adult chewers with their adult teeth in. Very hard chews can crack teeth, so supervise, take away worn or small ends, and skip them for dogs with dental disease or a history of broken teeth.
Duration
Days to weeks. The slowest-wearing horn we sell.
What's inside
The solid base of the horn, the densest piece and the slowest to wear down.
Feeding
Treats are a reward, not a meal. Keep all treats to about 10% of your dog's daily food, and a little less for liver, which is rich. Feed alongside their regular diet with fresh water out.
